Thumbs up

Currently have perldesk and phpmanager running, perldesk because of the power of the product and I like the way it works, phpmanager because it handled everything else and had the WHM module. Now with the launch of v1.6 of perldesk am considering upgrading my systems, what do others use and recommend, been looking into perlbill but was wondering how it compares to phpmanager, I like the way phpmanger enables you to edit all the emails regarding account activation etc and was wondering how perlbill handles this if at all, ie can you send different standard emails or are they preset. Otherwise what else is out there.

Used to use phpManager here but eventually grew out of it. Moved onto Perlbill and haven't looked back... it's a great product

How does it handle emails, having come from phpmanager you will know how it enables you to edit the welcome email, invoice emails and the rest, is this feature available in perlbill? as was looking at the demo and didn't see it.

Yep, you can fully edit all emails and html template files from the admin area. In the demo, once logged in click 'Settings' > 'Templates' > 'Modify' button (with default selected).

If you have the cPanel intergration module enabled you can have a welcome email sent out which can be editted for each account activation in a kind of dynamic way whereby when you activate the account, it loads up the stored email template into a big textbox allowing you to add any details specific to that account... pretty good feature really. Of course, many details are automatically put into the email such as domain, username, password, etc.

Another good thing about PerlBill is the feature of multiple template sets. This is similar to forums in the sense that you can have a number of different template sets that look different to suit a number of different site designs (eg if you sell hosting, domains, design, etc all from different websites). All you need to do is tag on an extra variable to the order link (or client control panel link) and it will use that template set.

We use DeskPro for support and HSphere to do our billing, although for dedicated and colo customers we have just purchased ModernBill - which also includes helpdesk I believe.

The integrated billing with Helm is brilliant. You can add / remove manual payments and provide a payment link. The best bit is with the integrated payment gateways that automate the account activation and invoicing.

It was just WorldPay that was support but they have recently added authorise.net and I believe there are a few more to come.

There is no Support Ticket system yet but I believe they are looking in to it.

Thing about Helm at the moment is that it has to use a callback type system where you are bounced to your merchants server (Not very pro in my books), but I believe from talking to them that they are working on it.
